Project Scope: A sloped front lawn became the basis of this garden. Serious drainage problems needed to be solved due to the road being higher than the house. The design redirects runoff from the road by using curved, shallow ditches or swales. The planting beds emphasize the spiral, reshaped ground. Trees, shrubs, perennials, vegetables, herbs and annuals are mixed together in new ways to create interest.
